There has been a couple different names to this hostel. The original development of this hostel was done by a fantastic team of staff from the Eastern New England Council of Hosteling International.
The volunteer board and the staffers along with generous support from the Lester family built the Albert B. Lester memorial hostel. This hostel was one of the earliest to adopt environmental practices that set the standard throughout Hostelling International-USA. It was built to be a gateway to outdoor adventure into the White Mountain National Forest. The first manager Sophie did an amazing job to bring this hostel alive and make it a part of the Conway, NH community.
The hostel later was sold into private ownership to Len and Missy who brought their amazing sense of hospitality to the hostel. The hostel became known as the Conway Hostel or the White Mountains Hostel.
The hostel in now about to go under another change in personality and become the WMHostel.com. I am the looking forward to connecting with old friends and to making many new ones at this hostel. Much more to come soon!
